About Us

Founded in 1985, Emmaus, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to helping families and individuals rebuild their lives.  Located in Haverhill, MA, it is the largest provider of emergency shelter in Essex County. Over the past 36 years, Emmaus has helped more than 40,000 children and adults out of homelessness and toward self-sufficiency. This past year alone, Emmaus has helped 1,012 people, including 400 children through its shelters and housing programs. On any given night, 300 adults and children will call Emmaus “home.”
